Objective

These services assist farmers in organizing themselves into institutional forms whether known as Produce Groups (PGs), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), or Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) so that they can start to effectively dealing with markets for both the purchase of inputs and sale of produce in a collective manner to derive benefit to its members.

While promoting an FPO, the focus of the institutional form will be on the farmer's primary type of activity, and the institution's measurable objectives will be designed accordingly.

All of these services are offered during a one-year period and continue for 3-5 years.

Mobilisation of farmers and educating them on the benefits of forming into a formal institutional form.

Facilitating establishment of norms for the institution

Facilitating election of board members

Registration with the appropriate authorities like Registrar of societies, registrar of companies

Help in inviting subject matter specialists to advise farmers on good agriculture practices and address specific problems of crops like seeking advise on pesticide by showing the standing crops and actual problem being faced by the farmer.

Facilitating aggregation of details of inputs requirements and procuring them in bulk order at a decent price from reliable sources

Facilitating aggregation of details of produce details and negotiating prices with the buyers. And supply them in bulk quantities to dependable buyers and realize proceedings

Help formers to plan for crops ahead

Establish needful infrastructure like godam, inputs shops, in the vicinity for the benefit of its members.

Value addition of focused crops / produce at FPO level. Support for branding, packaging and marketing of the value-added products.
