Job Profile:

We are looking for candidates who are passionate to work with farmers especially with Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), with good communication skill, writing skill along with competency in MS applications including word, excel and powerpoint. Candidates having prior experience in agriculture/marketing/financial services will be given preference.

Qualification: PG / Graduate in Agriculture/ MBA(Marketing)/Post graduate in Social Science/Rural Development

Job Description “Chief Executive Officer (CEO)” for FPO

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the key staff of Farmer Producer Company working at grass roots level and is responsible for community mobilization, activation of aggregation point identified at village level, acquisition of Shareholders, Mobilisation of Share Capital, Formation and capacity building of Farmers Interest Group (FIG), collection of agriculture produce for marketing, Value addition at FPO level, marketing of FPO products through online platform, coordinating & providing marketing support to the Farmers, maintaining compliances of various government departments, closely working with Board for preparing business plan and achieving the same; making availability of various schemes to FPO/FIG for the benefit of farmer members; and regularly contact with the District/State Project Coordinator of BKSL,CBBO & Implementing Agency ensuring all required information be shared on time.

Major Responsibilities-

  1. Deliverables for FPO as mentioned in the guideline of Detail Implementation Plan of Central Sector Scheme to promote 10,000 FPOs
  2. Administrative and Financial Management of FPO
  3. Preparation of a Sustainable Business Plan working with Cluster Based Business Organization (CBBO) and Board of FPO
  4. Driving business as per Business Plan
  5. Providing quality inputs to shareholders of FPO with proper market linkage from time to time on a business model
  6. Exploring market for selling of produce of shareholders of FPO with better price realization
  7. Increase number of shareholders in the operational area to reach 750 shareholders with Rs.15 lakh of share capital mobilization.
  8. Apply various Government Schemes like Equity Matching Grant, Credit Guarantee Scheme, Agri Infra Fund (AIF), Food Processing Units, Equipment for Farmer Service Centre etc for FPO.
  9. Collect Monthly plan and Timesheet from all Staffs of FPO and send to Board and CBBO for approval and further guidance
  10. Reporting and Documentation on progress of FPO
  11. Ensure proper management of FPO Office, Sales Counter, Extension Counter, Stock, Asset and other materials of FPO
  12. Maintaining FPO Database of Farmers/Share Holders
  13. Provide monthly report, quarterly report, annual report, success stories and MIS of FPO to various stake holders as per the requirement from time to time.
  14. Organize Training and meeting for Farmers on various initiatives like improved agriculture practices, new scheme for farmers etc.
  15. Verify reimbursement documents from staffs of FPO and recommend for payment to Board
  16. Maintaining soft and hard copy of FPO documents, reports and other important communication related to FPO and other projects assigned to FPO
  17. Achieving the deliverables of the FPO/other project assigned to FPO as per timeline
  18. Tracking the Achievement of the Deliverables of the FPO as per timeline and as per intimation of CBBO/Implementing Agency (IA) / Central Sector Scheme (CSS) authority / National Project Management Agency (NPMA)
  19. Ensuring all compliances as per timeline are completed of various departments like RoC, Income Tax, Sales Tax, Licenses issued from Agriculture Department (Seed, Pesticide, Fertilzer), Food license etc.
  20. Ensuring timely Book keeping of FPO with help of Accountant
  21. Ensuring maintenance of attendance Register and leave card of FPO staffs
  22. Coordination with line departments like Agriculture/Horticulture/Agriculture marketing etc to access different schemes for farmers
  23. Organizing Annual General Meeting (AGM) of FPO coordinating with Board of FPO.
  24. Any other job responsibility given by your reporting officer from time to time.
